Daryl joined Kranz & Associates as the CEO in July 2018. He leads the firm’s strategic direction, 100+ accounting professionals, and the overall operations of Kranz from the Corporate Office in Menlo Park, CA. Daryl was previously the Managing Director and head of the New York office at Connor Group, a specialized accounting and advisory firm, where he led Business Development efforts across all service lines for the East Coast and Europe. As an experienced Senior Finance and Corporate Business Development executive, Daryl specializes in Business Development, Financial Operations, M&A, Acquisition Integration, and Corporate Controllership areas. He has 20+ years of management experience in world-class, global, high technology organizations with a proven track record of success.
Prior to Connor Group, Daryl served in multiple leadership roles at large Technology companies in Silicon Valley including Director of Finance – Corporate Business Development, M&A, and Divestitures at Applied Materials, Senior Director of Finance – M&A Integration at Oracle, and Senior Finance Manager – M&A Integration at SUN Microsystems. Daryl received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from San Jose State University.
CRO/SVP Business Development
Christina is responsible for the alignment of sales and marketing, client services and business development. Prior to joining Kranz, Christina was Vice President of Client Solutions for Robert Half, the world’s first and largest specialized staffing firm. Christina partners with the professional staffing divisions of Robert Half and the consulting organization of Protiviti, its wholly-owned subsidiary, to develop business consulting and project staffing engagements. With a focus on finance/accounting project-based engagements, she works with company executives to support their growth initiatives as well as transactions such as IPOs, mergers and acquisitions.
Before joining Robert Half, Christina was an Associate Managing Partner for Tatum, a national interim CFO firm. Prior to joining Tatum, Christina was responsible for market development as Vice President for the Northwest region of Parsons Corporation, one of the largest engineering and construction firms. Christina has also worked with venture capital company Encore Capital Management where she performed financial analyses on investment opportunities for publicly traded companies. Within Encore Capital Management, she was involved with and helped launch a fund with one of the firm’s venture capital projects in Vietnam. Prior to Encore, Christina was part of the Corporate Government Affairs team of Johnson & Johnson and represented the healthcare company on Capitol Hill pertaining to corporate and health care issues.
Christina holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs and French from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in corporate finance from Johns Hopkins University. She was awarded “Most Influential Women in Business” in 2016 and 2017 in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times. Christina serves on the Board of Directors of Asian Pacific Fund, Association for Corporate Growth San Francisco, How Women Lead, and Asian Immigrant Women Advocates. She has Co-Chaired the Association for Corporate Growth’s M&A West Coast Conference the past five years from 2012-2017.
CFO and Practice Leader
Tom has over 35 years of financial experience, including senior management positions in Venture Capital, with traditional asset management firms, and with Big 4 public accounting firms. His accounting, finance and operations expertise is valuable in managing the day-to-day operations of our Venture Capital group. His extensive experience with work flow analysis, process improvement activities, systems developments and project management bring valuable expertise to our start up clients.
Before joining Kranz, Tom was CFO – Administrative Partner at Tenaya Capital, and CFO – Principal at Sanderling Ventures. Prior to that, he held senior management positions at Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management, State Street Bank, and Putnam Investments where he specialized in mutual fund custody, accounting & administration, and operations.
Tom is a CPA and earned his credentials while employed by KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He received his B.S., Cum Laude, from Boston College.
Outside of work, Tom loves sports, is a runner, and has a passion for music.
Bette Armstrong serves Kranz & Associates as CFO of multiple venture capital firms. With 24 years of relevant work experience, Bette has accumulated extensive knowledge relative to fund operations
including formation, portfolio management, analysis, and forecasting. With talent and dedication,
she manages and performs all aspects of accounting functions and investor reporting for multiple
venture capital funds, general partner entities, and management companies. Bette also serves Kranz by managing a team of eight people.
Prior to joining Kranz, Bette led the financial operations for a $2.5 billion portfolio of venture capital funds and funds of funds. Bette also has a history of performing the accounting functions and investor reporting for multiple private equity funds. Her previous work experience includes: Consultant at Bertram Capital, Director of Finance at SVB Capital, Consultant at Norwest Venture Partners, VP of Accounting & Finance at Artiman Ventures, Director of Finance at Quantum3D, Director of Finance at Techfarm Management, and Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Bette completed her BBA with a major in Accounting from Kennesaw State College in Marietta,
Georgia. She currently resides with her family in Cupertino, Ca.
Bud, a veteran CFO with over 35 years of financial experience, joined Kranz & Associates as a partner in 1995 to help shape what is today the premier financial outsourcing firm in Northern California and beyond. Bud’s experience as a CFO includes multiple public offerings as well as several start-up companies. He focuses on early stage technology companies including ecommerce, web and software companies, with a keen eye towards ensuring they are well positioned for extensive growth.
At Kranz & Associates, Bud has been actively involved in: Yelp.com, a Web 2.0 social networking company that connects people to businesses, Freewheel Media, Inc., a digital video ad management and monetization company, Jaspersoft, an open source Business Intelligence Suite, MuleSource, an open source service oriented architecture, SocialText, a social software solution for the enterprise, Responsys, an on demand email marketing solution, Hyperic Corporation, an open source network management company (acquired by SpringSource), Gracenote, a digital entertainment company (acquired by Sony), and Preview Systems (IPO).
As interim CFO, Bud is responsible for all financial affairs from funding to IPO, which include; establishing policies and procedures allowing companies to scale, managing financial reporting, establishing and managing banking relationships, and assisting the management team in setting strategic goals and objectives. Bud has arranged over $100 million in venture/bank related financing for his companies in the past 15 years. He has extensive experience working with European and Asian companies as stand alone companies or as subsidiaries of US based companies.
Prior to Kranz & Associates, Bud developed his wealth of experience serving in the CFO position at Telemac Cellular, his first technology start-up, a developer of prepaid cellular software sold to Phillips Electronics in 1995, Morgan Graphics, a graphic arts distribution company and Landsing Corporation, a real estate syndication company, the first company to offer equity REIT’s in the public market where Bud drove 5 of the company’s sponsored IPO’s. Landsing was Bud’s first start-up, where as the 25th employee, he helped grow the company to over 500 employees nationwide.
Bud has a B.S. in Accounting and Finance. When he’s not hunkered down working for his clients, Bud and his wife Jill (with whom he recently celebrated a 44th wedding anniversary) enjoy chasing little white objects around fields (golf) and controlled sliding down mountains in Tahoe (skiing) We suspect she lets him win at golf.
Mike’s 30+ years experience enables him to partner with CEO’s of start-up companies to develop business plans, manage the day-to-day financial and administrative functions and drive their performance to meet their long term financial and operational objectives, achieve operating efficiency and maximize shareholder value working with companies from start-up pre-revenue to $20M plus public companies.
During his years at Kranz, Mike utilized his financial leadership at clients such as Aptana (Ruby on Rails development environment), Cellfire (digital grocery and mobile coupons), Centrify (access directory solutions for securing heterogeneous systems and applications), CloudMade (tools to leverage OpenStreetMap data), Doostang (elite professional community helping access thousands of jobs), Sparkplay (MMO games), and UpMo (one-step career management tools). Mike has significant international experience, specifically in the UK, India & China, setting up subsidiaries and managing ongoing finance and administration operations.
Before joining the team, Mike held financial positions as the CFO of Apexon and Redwood Microsystems, VP of Finance at Avistar Communication Corporation and Koala Technologies, as well as Controller positions at The Ask Group, IBM/ROLM Systems Division; and Imagic. Earlier in his career he was Manager of Corporate Financial Planning at Alumax after starting his career at Arthur Andersen where he earned a CPA.
A San Francisco native, Mike received a B.S. Mechanical Engineering and his MBA from the University of California Berkeley. Mike is an avid sports fan with enthusiasm for college football (mostly USC), the NFL (49ers), MLB and auto racing; it’s no wonder he likes these fast paced start-ups. You can also find him out playing tennis or hiking.
Nancy’s 30+ years of experience allow her to share expertise and impact the scale and growth of the finance and administrative functions with companies at early stages. This helps companies plan and implement actions that are both long term and near term to meet the operational and financial goals of a company. She has served companies in Silicon Valley through most of her career and is experienced in international finance, operations, IT, facilities, legal and human resources.
Since joining Kranz in September 2017, Nancy has worked with Leia (holographic content), Waypoint Building (unlocking real estate value), YBVR (streaming virtual reality) and WebABA (medical ABA billing and practice management). During previous consulting work, Nancy engaged with companies on processes, controls and systems including defining and capturing master data elements critical to the business.
Prior to Kranz, Nancy was CFO at Anomali, a threat intelligence cyber security company, VP of Finance for Adaptive Insights, a corporate metrics and planning SAAS company, Acting CFO and VP Finance at Fortinet a publicly held cyber security company focused on firewalls, IDS, and secure emails and VP Finance at ArcSight a publicly held SIEM company that was purchased by HP.
During off hours, Nancy is studying bee keeping. Currently she is growing flowers to attract pollinators to her back yard and intends to begin tours of beekeepers and their hives. In addition she attends start-up presentations in the valley to keep current on upcoming technologies. Both of these activities keep her relaxed but in a growth mindset.
Rachel is a confident and articulate CFO with a strong background working with venture funded and high growth companies in software, SaaS, media and ecommerce. In the lead financial role, Rachel has supported companies in building their value through VC fund raising, Private Equity M&A and growth acquisition transactions. Rachel is best known for her strengths in working alongside executive teams as a strategist, a catalyst for changes and improvements and a steward of solid financial management and transparency.
Rachel recently joined Kranz in the fall of 2018. Her current client portfolio includes BrightMachines, Dote Shopping, Interos, and a company in Stealth mode. In all cases, her background and extensive experience has contributed to successful results in fund raising, risk assessment and containment , FP&A, treasury and capital management.
Prior to joining Kranz, Rachel held CFO and consulting CFO positions in venture funded and privately finance companies including Endpoint Clinical, Dwell Media, Gehry Technologies, Equilibrium, Zipline, Santa Cruz Networks, Careguide.com, Kivera (acquired by TCS), and Living Books (subsidiary of Broderbund.) In these lead financial roles, Rachel has supported venture fund raises totaling over $25MM and 6 M&A deals ranging from $2MM to $200MM.
Rachel is a Stanford MBA and has a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Math and Economics. She began her career in strategic planning, including 4 years with a boutique management consulting firm (acquired by CapGemini) and 2.5 years in the lead business strategy role at LucasFilm Ltd. Outside of work, Rachel is an avid hiker, scaling mountain tops from the Himalayas to the Swiss Alps. Rachel lives in Marin with her family and loves taking work breaks and weekend time hiking trails in the Mount Tamalpais state park, just outside her front door.
Glenn is a seasoned financial executive with over 30 years of broad experience in fast-paced global software and technology companies, ranging from small venture-backed start-ups to publicly-held companies with over $1 billion in revenue. He has extensive international experience setting up and overseeing financial operations in over 15 countries, as well as working overseas in the UK.
At Kranz & Associates, Glenn’s clients have included FireEye, a leading edge internet security company, Sonico.com, the third largest social networking company in Latin America, and Soladigm, a next generation green building solutions start-up venture, as well as Informatica, a leading enterprise data integration software company.
Prior to joining Kranz & Associates, Glenn served as the CFO at Cast Iron Systems, Nettaxi.com, and Simply Interactive, as well as serving as Vice President of Finance for Informatica and Business Objects, both publicly traded companies. At Pictra, Glenn served as Vice President of Finance & Operations. He served as Worldwide Controller at Logitech and has held Financial Management roles at Silicon Graphics, Ungermann-Bass/Tandem Computers and Auspex Systems. Glenn started his career at Ernst & Young.
Glenn grew up in Philadelphia and is a graduate of Lehigh University. He is a Pennsylvania CPA (inactive) and his organizational memberships include Financial Executives International, Bay CFO, and the Financial Executives Networking Group. When not taking care of business, he can be found pulling for the Dallas Cowboys, chasing a little white ball around a golf course or exploring his interest as an amateur winemaker. A man of diverse interests, Glenn appeared in the movie “Taps” with Tom Cruise. Today, he is a star with Kranz.
Mike, a financial executive with 38 years of senior executive financial experience, brings a wealth of knowledge and the unique combination of acting as CFO for numerous venture capital firms as well as international high tech start-ups in the valley. This experience gives him a superior understanding of start-ups from both inside and out, and provides management teams with valuable insights and technical expertise.
Mike’s experience working with over 20 venture capital firms spans from fund formation and set up, to managing the ongoing finance operations for venture funds. His venture firm clients include Maples Investments, Angel Investors, Granite Global, Leapfrog Ventures, Dali Hook Partners, Dot-Edu, DFJ InCube Ventures & Sequoia Capital Liquidating Trusts. Additionally, Mike has been a key financial contributor acting as CFO for Kace Networks, Mimosa Systems, StumbleUpon, Playback Media and SiNett working with the Executive teams to ensure best practices.
Prior to joining Kranz & Associates, Mike was CFO of Ehrlich Rominger, where he completed a merger transaction before devoting himself full time to Kranz & Associates, the company he helped launch the creation of. Mike began his career at the Chicago office of KPMG where he became a Senior Audit Manager and technician active in their National Peer Review and Healthcare Technical Training. He relocated to California to start the audit practice as a partner at Frank Rimerman, a small local CPA firm that primarily specialized in taxes.
Mike was born and raised in the Windy City, graduated from the University of Illinois and is a CPA (inactive). He has been an active leader in his community serving as both President and Treasurer of the Menlo Park Rotary as well as Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Rotary Foundation. He is a “never say die,” hard-core Bears and Cubs fan. When he’s not with his clients (or watching his teams lose), Michael enjoys exercising, reading Kindle books and family time with his wife and four children on Maui’s beaches.
Bob is a veteran CFO with over 20 years’ experience working with venture backed software and communication companies. Bob has managed companies through the evolution from start-up to rapid revenue growth (two of his companies appeared on the INC 500’s fastest growing private companies) and on to a successful acquisition. He has extensive experience raising venture capital creating business plans, forecasting and budgeting, debt financing, and has a special focus on helping companies develop and define their business models and figure out key business drivers.
During his time at Kranz, Bob has been continuously working on fundraising activities, supporting due diligence and providing guidance to companies including Altus Learning, a video search and management system, & iCharts, interactive chart creation, HotChalk, learning management systems.
Bob’s past experience includes CFO for Five9, a leading SaaS provider of call-center software and he served as CFO for Ventaso, a sales and marketing software company, Savvis Communications, data centers and private networks and Access America, telecom services for the SMB market. He’s grown companies from sales of $1 MM with a few employees up to $50MM with over 500 employees.
Bob grew up in New Jersey and received his BA (in Philosophy) from Washington College and his MBA at UCLA. Bob began his career as a money manager in New York, before moving on to investment banking, where he managed the IPO’s for several emerging growth companies before getting the start-up bug. Bob is an avid tennis player, and always has a few books going, both fiction and non-fiction. Now that both children are in college, he hopes he can find his golf game.
Andrea is a transformational CFO with a strong, 25-year track record of thinking strategically and executing operationally. A serial CFO in both private and public companies (including two IPOs and other public transactions), she provides expert-level capabilities in technology, life sciences, professional services, consumer products, and manufacturing. With multiple capital raises and multiple M&A transactions, Andrea has complete mastery of both the technical and operational aspects of the role of CFO. She is best known for her innovation, collaboration, ethics, and team building.

Andrea focus is on turning innovation into valuation.
Managing Director, Technical Accounting Practice Leader
Patty is an experienced finance and accounting professional with over 25 years of experience. She brings a wealth of knowledge working with both public and private entities ranging from venture-backed start-up enterprises to multinational public companies. Patty’s expertise includes SEC reporting requirements, IPO preparation and technical accounting including expertise in the areas of revenue recognition, business combinations, convertible debt, stock-based compensation and other equity arrangements (preferred stock classification, beneficial conversion, warrants), derivatives (including embedded derivatives assessment) and hedge accounting. Patty’s industry experience is varied and she has served clients in the technology, life sciences, retail, distribution and consumer products manufacturing industries. Patty also has extensive experience working with companies through their initial audits, identifying issues with historical accounting and bringing clients in compliance with US GAAP. Patty also successfully serves as an active liaison between her clients and their external auditors and third party specialists in order to reach consensus and resolution on audit and accounting matters.
Recently, Patty has worked with a large private equity investor in assisting two of its investment companies. For one of the companies, which consummated multiple acquisitions in a single year, Patty oversaw a Kranz team that assisted the company with the completion of its initial audit. The Kranz team effort included preparation of technical accounting position papers, operational accounting assistance including a multi-level consolidation, preparation of multiple sets of financial statements and project management of the Company’s activities associated with the audit. For the other company, which was being sold to a public registrant, Patty led a team which prepared the various financial statements needed for inclusion in the acquirer’s Form 8-K Filing. Patty has also recently worked with an entity to address and recast its revenue recognition, to review the monthly close processes as well as to assist the entity through its audit for the fiscal year.
Prior to joining Kranz & Associates, Patty was a partner at Deloitte & Touche, LLP where she served as audit partner for clients in the internet-media technology, life sciences and technology products distribution industries. Patty also served 3 years as partner in Deloitte’s National Office assisting public client audit engagement teams on various audit quality initiatives. During her tenure with Deloitte, Patty also served as a subject matter expert in a variety of technical areas, including share-based compensation, fair value accounting, the Internal Control Audit and also served as a regional PMO leader regarding Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and its impacts on public company audits. Patty also served 2 years as a member of Deloitte’s Global Markets practice where she assisted clients with issues relating to the application of the derivatives and hedge accounting standard.
Patty was born and raised in San Francisco, California and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and is an active CPA in California. Patty enjoys international travel and being able to practice her language skills, spending time with her family and following the Bay Area’s major sports teams.
Matt has 25 years of experience in Silicon Valley with a variety of start-up technology companies in both the hardware and software sectors. His companies have been domestic and international, private and public, and both large and small.
Prior to Kranz, Matt held a variety of Senior Financial Management positions at technology start-up companies in the areas of automotive, recruitment, gaming, online advertising, chips stacking and interconnect, loyalty marketing, and travel. Matt was the first financial executive at GetThere (formerly Internet Travel Network) where he helped lead the growth of the company from $.5M in revenue to over $15M and a successful IPO. Matt was an early employee at Conner Peripherals where he helped manage the growth of the company’s revenue from $100M to $2.4B producing storage solutions (hardware). He has been involved in raising equity, IPO’s, Strategic Investments and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Matt is a native of Palo Alto and lives in Menlo Park. He received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of California at Berkeley and his MBA from the Johnson school at Cornell University. Matt is a big fan of the outdoors including fishing, hunting, harvesting mussels on the Half Moon Bay coast and hiking. Matt spends much of his spare time tending to his garden where both unusual and fragrant flowers are his favorites.
Nisreen is a driven financial professional with over 15 years of experience working with hardware and software companies in Silicon Valley. She has expertise in revenue recognition, sales tax, sales operations and has worked with companies from the start-up stage through acquisition. Nisreen likes to take on challenges that are sometimes outside of her comfort zone and strives to learn better ways of working.
Nisreen has been with Kranz for almost a decade. Some of her clients include Airware where she helped the company implement Netsuite, Honor (named one of the hottest San Francisco startups to watch in 2016), Socialtext (acquired by Peoplefluent), ChoiceVendor (acquired by LinkedIn).Prior to Kranz, Nisreen owned an accounting and consulting firm serving clients across a wide spectrum of businesses in the Bay Area.Nisreen is a board member of SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments), a non-profit. The mission of SAVE is to provide alternatives to domestic violence through support services, advocacy and education, and assist domestic violence victims and their families
Vidhi is a self-motivated leader that brings more than fifteen years of professional experience to Kranz & Associates. She specializes in the audit and accounting needs of entities in the asset management space – private equity, venture capital, fund of funds, registered investment companies, registered investment advisors and business development companies. Vidhi provides extensive knowledge on valuation of privately held investments. She has a proven track record of serving her clients with distinction and takes pride in the development of her teams.
At Kranz, Vidhi has been focusing on managing and performing accounting functions and investor reporting for multiple venture capital funds, general partner entities, and management companies.
Prior to Kranz, Vidhi was an audit senior manager at Deloitte & Touche responsible for planning and execution of audits for multiple asset management clients. She led the successful integration of Deloitte’s Asset Management Center of Excellence based in India with the Deloitte West Coast asset management practice.
Vidhi graduated from University of Mumbai. She is a CPA (active) and a Chartered Accountant from India. She enjoys training her team and volunteering in her kids’ school. In her free time, Vidhi can be found participating in dance fitness workouts and spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Freda is a high energy financial executive with successful start-up experience from early stage companies to late stage IPO exits. Freda’s expertise includes audit and IPO preparedness, drafting S-1’s , operational accounting, management reporting, fundraising in addition to helping clients understand stock compensation and equity issues. Freda’s background also includes financial due diligence, merger and acquisitions of market-moving, monetizing technologies.
Freda is a native San Franciscan and graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Freda is a CPA and began her professional career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington, DC and San Jose. As an Audit Manager, Freda developed a specialization with venture-backed technology start-up clients and served the biotech, software and venture capital sectors. Freda’s background offers extensive start-up experience as well as 2 successful initial public offerings on NASDAQ.
Prior to joining Kranz & Associates, Freda served as the Corporate Controller of TRX, Cutera (successful S-1 filing) and XDx. Freda also served as the Assistant Controller of Envivio (successful S-1 filing) and MeetChina.com. Freda also provided financial advisory services to Igenica and successfully negotiated and secured financing for Igenica.
When Freda is not thinking of financial statements or IPO’s, Freda enjoys TRX workouts, Bikram Yoga and skiing the black diamond with her ten-year old twins.
In Kim’s two-plus decades of working in high-tech finance in Silicon Valley, Kim Lain served as an interim CFO or Corporate Controller to help a myriad of companies grow successfully, including AppDynamics (now owned by Cisco), BandPage (now part of Google), Cloud.com (acquired by Citrix), several companies acquired by Amazon, AT&T, Presidio, and many others. Kim’s specialties include creating finance models to help startups raise funding, setting up accounting and other systems to scale their growth by implementing and migrating back-office systems from QuickBooks or Xero to NetSuite, and SAP. Skills in Kim’s toolkit include revenue recognition analysis, due diligence management, and international consolidations.
Kim is one of the rare natives of Silicon Valley, having grown up in Santa Clara. Kim is alumni to San Jose State and Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. When not working, Kim loves to travel, SCUBA dive, or just hang out at a beach with her Yellow Lab, Beau. Kim has two children, one in veterinary school, and one as a chemical engineer at a local biotech firm.
Lourdes has been an asset at Kranz and Associates for almost 25 years. She has utilized her accounting and financial leadership skills as an experienced Vice President of Finance serving Kranz internally as well as working with many companies at various stages of development. Lourdes demonstrated her expert skills in budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and general accounting as she worked with clients in a variety of industries including: software, manufacturing, media advertising, venture capital, professional services and retail.
Lourdes’ has a strong reputation through her 30+ years of financial experience. She has partnered with companies ranging from multi-million-dollar corporations to working with incubators through six years of growth and ultimate sale. In her current internal roll at Kranz, she manages client relations, accounting, human resources, interviewing and hiring, as well as mentoring and training the Kranz team.
Prior to Kranz & Associates, she was a Financial Analyst for Kraft General Foods where she prepared the manufacturing budget, handled cost accounting, and headed the Process Improvement Team. As a Senior Cost Analyst for Capri Sun, she supervised cost accounting, prepared manufacturing forecasts and assisted in the design and implementation of their McDonnel Douglas cost system. At L.S.I. Sierra Electronic Division, Lourdes handled general accounting, Accounts Payable, Accountants Receivable, Collections, Payroll and staff training.
Lourdes graduated from Cal State Hayward with a B.S. in Accounting.
Chris is an experienced finance and accounting professional with 30+ years’ in global Computer Hardware, Software, and Life Sciences companies, ranging from small venture-backed start-ups to publicly-held companies with over $10 billion in revenue. Chris’s experience enables him to partner with CEO’s of start-up companies to develop business plans, manage the day-to-day financial and administrative functions and drive their performance to meet their long term financial and operational objectives, achieve operating efficiency and maximize shareholder value.
At Kranz, Chris has utilized his accounting and financial leadership at clients such as Netpulse (branded fitness club mobile apps), Mondee (online airline ticket consolidator), Elastica (cloud data security), Maravai Life Sciences and Vector Laboratories (private equity backed life sciences companies), and Informatica (data integration software).
Before joining the team, Chris was the US Controller at Clickatell, a venture backed online text messaging provider with operations in the USA and South Africa. Earlier in his career he held Accounting and Finance management positions in Manufacturing, Marketing, R&D, and Consolidations at Sun Microsystems. Chris also held accounting management positions at Logitech (computer peripherals), Microtech research (software), and Finnigan (scientific instruments). Chris started his career at Deloitte & Touche where he earned a CPA.
Chris grew up in San Jose and received a B.S. in Accounting from Saint Mary’s College of California graduating magna cum laude. On the weekends you’re likely to find Chris and his fiancée walking Lance and Teddy (Yorkies) around San Francisco. Chris is also a CPA (inactive).
Lia Burke, serves as a CFO at Kranz and Associates. Lia recently joined our team and has over 20 years of financial experience at public and private companies. Prior to Kranz, Lia was the CFO at Caring.com, an online resource for caregivers seeking senior care for aging loved ones. Before Caring, Lia was CFO at RadiumOne, a VC backed global advertising technology company. There, Lia built out the operational infrastructure, oversaw international expansion, raised debt and equity financing, assisted in the setup of 8 international subsidiaries, and managed a team of Accounting and Finance employees. She was also responsible for presenting financial information to the Board, M&A due diligence and the annual audit. RadiumOne was acquired in 2017. Lia began her career in public accounting working first with Ernst & Young in Ireland and then as an Audit Manager for the technology practice at KPMG in San Francisco. She also spent 8 years at Oracle between 1995 and 2003 initially as the Director of Corporate FP&A and then as the Director of Finance for Worldwide Marketing.
Lia grew up in Cork, Ireland, but has been in the Bay Area for many years now. On the weekends, you can find Lia watching her children participate in sports or out walking the dog. In addition to exploring all the great neighborhoods in San Francisco, Lia loves being outdoors and hiking around the Bay Area. Overall, we believe our Emerging Growth Practice will be a great fit for Lia, as she enjoys working with early to mid-stage companies where she can help them scale by implementing processes and procedures and building out operational infrastructure.
As a global finance executive, Rakesh has a proven track record of steering companies through high growth phases(from pre revenue to $200M+ revenues), changes related to M&A including several successful M&A integrations from startups to Fortune 150 companies.
At Kranz, Rakesh has been supporting several blockchain, payments, AI, SaaS and manufacturing companies. Rakesh is currently focused on new technology startups.
Prior to Kranz, Rakesh held Head of Finance positions at Gild and Swift Navigation and Head of Accounting and FP&A positions at Planet and Boku.
Rakesh has an MBA from University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and is a CFA, CPA and an FRM.
Senior Director of Recruiting
Amy is an Inactive CPA that started her career in public accounting. She performed external audits for a variety of industries. After leaving public accounting, she went to ALLTEL Communications where she joined Internal Audit and performed financial and operational audits for ALLTEL Corporation and subsidiaries. She was then promoted as a manager of thirteen employees. After implementation of a successful project that saved the company over 2 million in cash flow the first month, she was asked to help develop the eCommerce Systems for ALLTEL Communications.
After 7 years at ALLTEL Communications, Amy moved to California from Arkansas to be the Director of Operations for the Western Region of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. She helped small business owners grow and develop their business acting as a business consultant for the corporate office. She was responsible for 60 million in revenue and over 120 franchise owners. She had the largest growth in the company for 5 years.
Now, Amy has been in the staffing industry for over a decade specializing in Accounting and Finance recruiting. She has been recruiting for Kranz & Associates since 2012, and she works with all types of candidates and companies to staff for success.
Director, Netsuite Practice
As the NetSuite Practice Lead and Senior Project Manager, Anna is responsible for NetSuite implementations, consulting services and practice development. Anna is instrumental in providing the vision for how the solutions and software will be implemented based on clients’ desired business processes. As a result, clients experience productivity improvements in their sales, marketing, operations, customer service and support, finance and accounting business processes. Anna is focused on delivering innovative solutions by blending extensive platform knowledge with relevant industry experience.
Since 2006, Anna has been focused on NetSuite, implementing over 130 projects, primarily focusing on warehouse, distribution and manufacturing segments. For 8 ½ years, Anna worked for a NetSuite, Inc. as a solution designer, certified NetSuite consultant and project manager. Anna understands client key business requirements, assesses diverse complexities around their business processes, and proposes solutions for quicker realization of benefits. The following 3 years, Anna served as the NetSuite Practice Lead at a reseller working with cross-functional teams to analyze system and business requirements. Anna provides in-depth industry experience and practical expertise enabling clients to maximize their business system to its fullest. Anna is also a highly regarded training instructor.
Prior to joining NetSuite, Anna worked for Salesforce.com partner Bluewolf, focusing on Salesforce implementations, integration services and training. Anna worked closely with her clients to evaluate their existing processes and systems, recommend courses of action, and developed best practices.
Anna was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia. She earned his MBA at Santa Clara University. Anna is loves spending time with her husband and 3 children.
